Afghanistan-announces-killing-of-58-Pakistani-soldiers-in-border-clashes

The Afghan government spokesperson reported that its forces killed 58 Pakistani soldiers during an overnight operation along the shared border between the two countries.

During these clashes, “58 Pakistani soldiers were killed and thirty others were injured,” while also noting “the death of nine Taliban forces.”

End of Clashes

The ruling Taliban movement in Afghanistan stated that the ongoing clashes with Pakistan since yesterday have ceased through Saudi mediation.

The operation launched on Saturday by Taliban authorities against Pakistan along their shared border ended “in response to airstrikes on Kabul” attributed to Islamabad, according to the Defense Ministry of the Taliban government.

The Defense Ministry spokesperson stated: “This evening, the armed forces successfully carried out operations against Pakistani security forces along the Durand Line, in response to repeated violations and airstrikes targeting Afghan territory initiated by the Pakistani army.”
