The West Java Regional Police clarified a viral social media incident regarding an alleged robbery in the Gedebage to Cibiru area of Bandung. After investigation, it was determined that the incident was not a crime, but rather a misunderstanding between car and truck drivers on the highway early Saturday morning.
The incident began when a social media account uploaded a video showing a commotion between the driver of a white Fortuner car and a truck driver around 04:00 WIB. The video initially sparked allegations of attempted robbery, leading to widespread discussion and public concern.
The West Java Police Public Relations Division Head explained that the incident actually occurred due to a minor accident when the Fortuner car was sideswiped by a truck. As a result of the collision, the Fortuner sustained significant damage to the right side and had a flat front left tire.
In a state of panic, the Fortuner passengers pulled over and attempted to get clarification from the truck driver behind them. However, due to the dark and tense situation, communication did not go well. The truck driver, feeling scared and confused, immediately fled toward the West Java Regional Police Headquarters for safety.
Upon arriving at the police headquarters, the truck driver reported and requested protection from officers. Meanwhile, the car driver and his companions also came to the location to provide clarification. After examination by the General Criminal Investigation Directorate and the West Java Police Mobile Investigation Team, it was determined that there were no criminal elements in the incident. “This case is purely a misunderstanding. There are no robbery elements. Both parties have met, apologized, and made a peace statement,” stated the Police Commissioner.
On this occasion, the truck driver expressed gratitude to the police ranks for their quick response and prompt handling. “Thank you to the West Java Police, especially the General Criminal Investigation Directorate and Mobile Investigation Team, who responded quickly. I was panicked and traumatized, but now I can be calm,” he said.
Meanwhile, the Fortuner driver also apologized for the misunderstanding that occurred. “I apologize to all parties for this incident that caused concern. Everything has been resolved well,” he stated.
The West Java Police emphasized the importance of public caution in spreading information on social media, especially regarding security and crime issues. Police urged the public not to immediately believe information without clear verification, to avoid causing panic in the community.
This case has now been declared peacefully resolved, and both parties agreed not to prolong the matter.

The Bandung City Government through the Health Department is tightening supervision of food consumed by school children. This step follows increased public attention to food poisoning cases in several regions, including West Bandung, which has raised concerns among parents.
The Head of Bandung City Health Department emphasized that supervision is carried out by involving a special team and 80 community health centers spread across all districts. This team is tasked with ensuring all food produced by kitchens providing the school meal program is safe for consumption.
“Bandung must be safe. Every food that enters schools must go through processing and serving processes according to health standards. We don’t want food poisoning incidents from other regions to happen here,” stressed the Head during a meeting at Bandung City Hall.
The Head explained that supervision is not something new. Since the school meal program was launched, the Health Department has been providing advocacy and assistance to kitchen managers. However, the increasing trend of poisoning cases has prompted them to tighten supervision again and increase coaching intensity.
Currently there are 98 food provider kitchens in Bandung City. Of this number, 87 kitchens are still actively operating and all are undergoing certification. Although complete permits have not all been issued, kitchens are still allowed to operate provided they receive direct assistance from health officers.
“All kitchens operate under supervision. We check the kitchen conditions, from cleanliness, processing methods, serving, to waste management. If there are notes, we immediately request improvements,” he explained.
According to him, the majority of problems found relate to processing techniques
