On August 27, two days after Storm No. 5 swept through Nghe An province, staff at Nghe An Oncology Hospital were still urgently addressing the damage to ensure medical examination and treatment services for the public.

When Storm No. 5 hit, the metal roofs, ceilings, and many auxiliary structures at this hospital were torn off by the strong winds. The corridors lost almost all their ceilings, the parking lot metal roofs collapsed, many trees were uprooted, causing significant property damage.

Although Storm No. 5 swept through with strong winds for many hours, damaging many metal roofs and ceilings, thanks to the “four on-the-spot” preparation, patients and medical staff were kept completely safe. Treatment activities proceeded normally without interruption.

“Technical teams, logistics, and medical staff concentrated on repairs overnight to quickly restore the hospital to a safe and clean condition, creating a safe, thorough, and reliable treatment environment for the public,” he said.

Nghe An Oncology Hospital was inaugurated on August 19, along with over 250 projects that were started or completed nationwide under government direction.

Nghe An Oncology Hospital (Phase 2) is a Group A project, a Grade I construction, with a total investment of 1,259 billion VND, a scale of 1,000 beds, and a built-up area of 72,000m².
