On August 26, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, Head of the National Steering Committee on International Integration, chaired a conference to launch the Steering Committee and assess the situation of international integration implementation in recent times, as well as the direction and tasks for international integration in the coming period.

Attending the conference were Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son, Permanent Deputy Head of the Steering Committee; ministers, heads of ministerial-level agencies, government agencies; leaders of ministries, sectors, central agencies, and some provinces and cities that are members of the Steering Committee.

The conference heard the announcement of the Prime Minister’s Decision on consolidating the National Steering Committee on International Integration and implementing Politburo Resolution 59-NQ/TW, the Steering Committee’s Operating Regulations, and the official launch of the Steering Committee.

At the conference, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, Head of the Steering Committee, stated that there had previously been a National Steering Committee on International Integration. After the Politburo issued Resolution 59-NQ/TW on international integration in the new situation, following the direction of General Secretary To Lam, the Government issued a Decision to consolidate the Steering Committee to carry out tasks as before and to implement Resolution 59-NQ/TW.

The Prime Minister requested that members of the Steering Committee uphold the highest spirit and responsibility in their working capacities, contributing to helping the Steering Committee achieve the goals and requirements of the Party’s Resolutions and the State’s policies and laws on international integration. The Prime Minister commended the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for urgently advising on the development of the Government’s Action Program to implement Resolution 59-NQ/TW and for preparing to submit to the National Assembly a resolution on special mechanisms and policies to promote the implementation of Resolution 59-NQ/TW.

Assessing the results of international integration work and the implementation of Resolution No. 59 in recent times, the Prime Minister stated that international integration has played an important role in consolidating a peaceful and stable environment for national development, especially in the current context of international instability, uncertainty, and complexity.

The Prime Minister clarified: After issuing Resolution 59, we continued to expand and upgrade our network of partners, deepen bilateral relations, and expand cooperation in many fields, strengthening political trust and increasingly紧密 intertwining interests with countries; raising the total number of partners with which our country has a Comprehensive Partnership or higher to 38.

International integration has truly become an important driving force to enhance internal strength and effectively serve the country’s development. Although world economic growth slowed down and many unpredictable factors arose, our country still achieved high growth rates; GDP growth in the first 6 months of 2025 reached 7.52%; total merchandise export turnover in the first 7 months of 2025 reached over 514 billion USD. Total registered and implemented FDI capital in the first 7 months of 2025 reached 24.1 billion USD and 13.6 billion USD respectively, placing the country among the top 15 developing countries attracting the most FDI in the world.
