On August 13, the car license plate 89A-567.89 (Hung Yen province) will be re-auctioned for the second time with a starting price of 500 million VND, as stipulated in Article 6 of Decree 156/2024/ND-CP.

On August 8, a representative from Vietnam Partnership Auction Company (VPA), the organizer of the online license plate auction, announced that they will collaborate with the Traffic Police Department (Ministry of Public Security) to auction 50,000 motorcycle plates and 10,000 car plates on August 13, 2025.

Notably, among the list of car plates, the license plate from Hung Yen province with the registration number 89A-567.89 will be re-auctioned for the second time, with a starting price of 500 million VND. This price is based on Article 6 of Decree 156/2024/ND-CP.

On the same day, a series of “lucky” motorcycle license plates will also be auctioned, including: 29AE-666.66, 36AB-666.66, 24AA-444.44, and 69AB-111.11…

According to statistics from the Ministry of Public Security, since the first license plate auction took place (September 15, 2023), the total amount paid by winning bidders into the state budget has exceeded 5.2 trillion VND.

This includes over 11,300 car plates with a total value of more than 1.2 trillion VND and over 23,300 motorcycle plates worth approximately 387 billion VND. Around 830 billion VND has been paid into the state budget by winning bidders.

The car license plate auctions are conducted transparently and publicly. Individuals may authorize others to bid on their behalf using their accounts, and there is no limit on the number of plates a person can bid for.

The starting price for a car license plate auction is 40 million VND, increasing by 5 million VND every three years starting from January 1, 2025. The starting price for a motorcycle license plate auction is 5 million VND, increasing by 1 million VND every three years.
