According to the police, Ms. Nguyen Thi Binh, born in 1973, residing in Thanh Hiep quarter, Thanh Hoa ward, reported that a thief broke into her house and stole a large amount of cash and jewelry.
Upon receiving the report, the Thanh Hoa ward police coordinated with the Criminal Police Department (Dong Thap Province Police) to conduct an investigation. Through professional measures, after 2 hours, the authorities apprehended Huynh Quoc Loi, born in 2007, residing in Thanh Hiep quarter, Thanh Hoa ward.
At the police station, the suspect Huynh Quoc Loi confessed that due to debts, he broke into Ms. Nguyen Thi Binh’s house and stole 34 million Vietnamese dong in cash along with some jewelry: 1 bracelet, 2 rings, and 5 gold rings. After that, Loi used nearly 32 million dong to pay off debts and contributions; he took the gold rings to Cai Be district (Dong Thap) to sell for money, and hid the bracelet and rings behind his house.
Currently, the police have seized the evidence and issued an emergency detention order for Huynh Quoc Loi to continue the investigation and handle the case according to regulations.
