About: Văn Miếu
Văn Miếu, also known as the Temple of Literature, is located in Hanoi, Vietnam, and was established in 1070 under Emperor Lý Thánh Tông. It is dedicated to Confucius, scholars, and sages and historically functioned as a place of study rather than a religious landmark. Originally hosting the Imperial Academy, Vietnam’s first national university, Văn Miếu is renowned for its traditional Vietnamese architecture and numerous pavilions, halls, statues, and stelae of doctors that honor literature and education achievements.
