The Ministry of Municipalities and Housing issued more than 5,000 licenses for shared residential properties for individuals through the “Baladi” platform, while launching 4 qualitative initiatives within the “More Beautiful Cities” program to enhance comprehensive efforts to address visual distortion and improve the quality of life in cities during the first half of 2025.

The Ministry implemented a series of developmental projects and programs, including launching the debt portfolio in 15 municipalities and raising awareness of the importance of the objections platform in 16 municipalities covering 25 services, in addition to reducing the average objection processing time to just 9 working days compared to 30 days in 2024.

In terms of improving the urban landscape, visual distortion monitoring coverage exceeded 90% in major cities after expanding the scope of monitoring, with the activation of the smart assignment engine for inspection tours in 16 municipalities through more than 7,000 field monitors, and monitoring 8 new elements of visual distortion, in addition to utilizing cleaning contractors to enhance the efficiency of field treatments.

In the field of municipal service development, the Ministry launched 5 new qualification services through the “Baladi Business” platform, including (qualifying engineering offices to issue construction permits, qualifying engineering offices to issue commercial licenses, qualifying engineering offices to issue shared residential licenses for individuals, qualifying engineering offices to supervise construction permits, qualifying engineering offices to supervise excavations).

The Ministry also adopted the regulations for the elections of heads of crafts and professions and their deputies, covering more than 130 groups and professions in various regions of the Kingdom, which enhances knowledge and professional empowerment in the urban employment sector, and updated the guide for the health, technical, and safety conditions required in shared residential properties for individuals, which enhances compliance with spatial regulations and facilitates licensing requirements.
