Saudi cartoonist Amin Al-Habara has achieved a new milestone in his distinguished artistic career, winning the Audience Award at the Canifa Ride International Cartoon Competition in Italy, held under the theme “Love is Blind.” Visitors to the exhibition selected Al-Habara’s artwork from among 40 finalist pieces, making it the most admired by the Italian art-loving audience.
The work presents the theme “Love is Blind” in a witty and clever manner; a snail is enamored with a rigid replica of itself, even falling in love with it without realizing it is merely a machine.
Here, the idea emerges that love can sometimes transcend logic and conscious perception, creating beautiful illusions that the heart believes.
The piece also reflects how love can beautify things and make us see what we want to see, rather than what is actually there. It is also an invitation to reflect on the nature of human emotions that may go beyond the boundaries of reality.
It is worth noting that this award marks the thirtieth in Al-Habara’s artistic journey. He has also participated in numerous international memberships and published many works in local and global magazines and newspapers, with extensive international and local participation.
On this occasion, Amin Al-Habara expressed his happiness with this win, emphasizing that Saudi cartoonists are capable of competing and excelling in the finest international forums, affirming the presence and stature of Saudi cartoon art.
