New Metro Line to Connect City Center with Airport
The city administration has officially announced the launch of a new metro line that will directly connect the central district with the international airport. The project, which has been in development for five years, aims to reduce traffic congestion and provide a faster travel option for both residents and tourists.

The new line includes six stations, featuring modern design and advanced technology. Travel time from the city center to the airport is now approximately 25 minutes. The metro will operate from 5:30 AM to 12:30 AM daily, with trains arriving every six minutes during peak hours.
Key Information:
Total length: 18 kilometers
Number of stations: 6
Estimated daily passenger capacity: 150,000
Fully accessible for passengers with reduced mobility
Funding for the project was provided through a combination of municipal budget and international investment. The metro cars are equipped with energy-saving systems and comfortable seating. Security features include CCTV surveillance throughout all stations and carriages, as well as emergency communication systems.
This infrastructure development is part of a broader initiative to improve public transportation and reduce the city’s carbon footprint. Additional lines are planned for construction in the coming years to further expand the metro network.
city center
The city center, often known as the downtown or historic core, is the original commercial and often geographic heart of a city, historically serving as its main marketplace and public square. Its development typically traces the city’s own growth, with its oldest buildings and most significant landmarks reflecting its architectural and cultural heritage. Today, it remains a primary hub for business, government, shopping, and social gatherings.
international airport
An international airport is a major aviation facility with customs and border control services that enable travel between countries. The concept emerged in the early 20th century alongside the development of commercial air travel, with airports like Croydon in London (opened 1920) being among the first designed specifically for international flights. They serve as critical global transportation hubs, facilitating tourism, trade, and cultural exchange.
central district
The Central District is a historic and vibrant neighborhood in Seattle, Washington, which became a major hub for the city’s African American community following World War II due to racially restrictive housing covenants. While it remains a cultural center for Black history and arts, the area has undergone significant gentrification and demographic shifts in recent decades.
