The Mayor of Yokosuka, Katsuaki Uechi, revealed on social media on the 16th that he had been issued a traffic violation ticket by the prefectural police after he overlooked a one-way sign while driving his private car. Additionally, the car he was driving had expired vehicle inspection and mandatory automobile liability insurance.
According to posts on X (formerly Twitter), Mr. Uechi was driving around 8 AM on the 14th on a city road in Funakoshi-cho 1-chome, where he entered a one-way road during a restricted time without noticing the sign and was issued a traffic violation ticket by the Taura Police Station. Later, the police informed him that the car was without inspection and insurance.
