Ahmedabad: Piyush Parmar, the farmer leader of the Aam Aadmi Party and state president of the OBC cell, presented his views on an important issue through a video, stating that today, the high-handedness of PGVCL officials and their associates has come to light in Khorasa village of Maliyahati taluka in Junagadh district. People who do not want to install smart meters at their homes are protesting, and today the power connections of such locals have been forcibly cut. We have come to file a complaint regarding this matter today at Chorvad police station. We have all the footage and videos of this incident.

Piyush Parmar, a leader of the party, said that the government has not issued any guidelines stating that “consumers must compulsorily install smart meters.” When a concerned citizen filed an RTI with PGVCL on this issue, the matter was clarified in that RTI. Despite this, when we met the PGVCL employees and tried to discuss the matter face-to-face, they resorted to high-handedness, entered the homes of women and girls, and cut off power connections, so today we are filing a complaint at Chorvad police station. If action is not taken against these officials in the coming time, and if the officials are not transferred or suspended, our fight will continue. We will also announce upcoming programs on this matter soon.
