Ahmedabad: Aam Aadmi Party’s farmer leader and OBC cell state president Piyush Parmar, presenting his views on an important issue through a video, said that today in Khorasa village of Maliyahati taluka in Junagadh district, the high-handedness of PGVCL officers and their associates has come to light. People who do not want to install smart meters at their homes are protesting against it, and the power connections of such locals have been forcibly cut today. We have come to Chorwad police station today to file a complaint regarding this matter. We have all the footage and videos of this incident.

Madhu Mama’s party leader Piyush Parmar said that the government has not issued any guidelines stating that “customers must compulsorily install smart meters.” When a conscious citizen filed an RTI on this issue with PGVCL, this matter was clarified in that RTI. Still, we met these PGVCL employees and tried to talk to them face-to-face about this issue, but they acted high-handedly, entered the homes of women and daughters, and cut off power connections, so today we are filing a complaint at Chorwad police station. If action is not taken against this officer in the coming time, if the officer is not transferred and suspended, our fight will continue. We will also announce upcoming programs on this matter soon.
