Yokohama World Porters (Naka-ku, Yokohama) has completely renovated its rooftop floor, which was previously a parking lot. Approximately two-thirds of the 5,600 square meters have been transformed into a new “Terrace Area” offering panoramic views of the Minato Mirai 21 (MM21) district. The area is open to the public free of charge.
An observation deck (about 2,200 square meters) has been installed on the side facing the Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse, featuring artificial turf and hammocks. The parking lot was closed in July last year, and the renovation was completed, with the area opening on the 18th of this month. Food trucks will also offer one-handed gourmet snacks for visitors to enjoy while walking around.
A “Splash Park” for children, where they can engage in water gun battles, will be open until August 24. Additionally, “Crazy Golf,” an evolved version of putt-putt golf, is scheduled to open in mid-September.
The facility underwent a major renovation last year, with plans to continue renewing the upper floors. The goal is to attract over 12 million visitors annually by revitalizing the space as an entertainment-focused destination.
