Sapporo City Main Office

Sapporo City has decided on a policy to reduce administrative expenses for each department by 15% compared to the 2025 budget for the 2026 budget formulation. Policy expenses for each department, excluding infrastructure development, will also be cut by 10% from the amount allocated in the five-year administrative and financial management plan. The city determined that it should focus on fiscal health due to the potential for future funding shortages caused by expanding welfare expenses and the effects of inflation, as well as numerous large-scale projects being planned.
