In a case where a man was assaulted and went missing in Sapporo’s Shiroishi Ward in August, a 36-year-old company employee from Tomakomai City, Miyuzono Yuki, was arrested on suspicion of abandoning a body late on the 19th. Based on the suspect’s testimony, a search was conducted in an empty lot in Mukawa Town, and a body was discovered buried underground. Subsequent investigation confirmed the body to be that of a 55-year-old man from Sapporo’s Toyohira Ward who had been reported missing. A judicial autopsy will be conducted to determine the cause of death.
