A fire broke out at a pig farm in Tarumae, Tomakomai City, Hokkaido, on January 3.

Nine fire engines were dispatched, and firefighting efforts are ongoing.

Around 1:15 PM on the 3rd, a report came in to police from the fire department stating, “A pig shed is on fire.”

According to authorities, the burning structure is a pig shed at the farm, and it is believed that over 100 pigs were inside the building.

There is no information about any injuries at this time.
