Volunteers collected trash at the Fujimae tidal flat in Nagoya, a site visited by many wild birds.
Approximately 100 people, including families and university students from Aichi Prefecture, gathered at the Fujimae tidal flat and picked up trash that had washed ashore, such as plastic bottles and batteries.
This activity, called the “Toyota Social Fest,” is conducted by Toyota Motor Corporation across the country as part of their environmental conservation efforts.
A total of 85 bags of trash were collected on the 11th.
Fujimae tidal flat
The Fujimae tidal flat is a vital coastal wetland located in Ise Bay, Japan, near Nagoya. Historically a vast natural area, it faced significant threats from industrial development and land reclamation projects throughout the 20th century. Today, it is a protected Ramsar site, recognized internationally for its importance as a critical stopover for migratory birds.
