On the afternoon of the 14th, a rental boat and a fishing vessel collided at a fishing port in Kihoku Town, Mie Prefecture, injuring three people aboard the rental boat.

Around 1:20 PM, the fire department reported to the Owase Coast Guard Office that “a rental boat and a fishing vessel collided at the fishing port in Shimokatsuura, Kihoku Town, and multiple injuries have occurred.”

According to the Owase Coast Guard Office, the rental boat was carrying four men in their 20s to 60s, three of whom sustained minor injuries such as bruises.

The fishing vessel had one man in his 50s aboard, but he was not injured.

The rental boat was 7.69 meters long, and the fishing vessel was 11.3 meters long. The waves were calm at the time of the incident.

The Owase Coast Guard Office is investigating the cause of the accident.
