On the morning of the 5th, a fire broke out at a confectionery factory in Chita City, Aichi Prefecture, and firefighting efforts are ongoing.
According to the fire department, around 9:00 a.m. on the 5th, an employee at Takeshin Confectionery in Okada, Chita City, called 119 to report that the factory was burning.
Ten fire engines have been dispatched, and firefighting operations continue.
Takeshin Confectionery is a rice cracker manufacturer that operates the brand “Okakiya Tatsushin.”
At the time of the fire, the factory was believed to be operational, with about 80 employees present. All of them evacuated, and there are no injuries or missing persons.
The scene is a residential area about 2.5 kilometers southeast of Nagaura Station on the Nagoya Railroad Tokoname Line.
