On July 19, 2025, shortly before 5:00 PM, the Sapporo Chuo Police Station arrested a 71-year-old man, who identified himself as a company executive, on suspicion of assault in Sapporo’s Nishi Ward.
According to police, the man allegedly struck another male multiple times on the head and neck with an umbrella around 4:30 PM on a street in Odori Higashi 6-chome, Chuo Ward, Sapporo, causing injuries.
The two men were not acquainted.
The suspect told police, “I don’t want to talk right now.”
Authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding the assault in detail.
