The Blue Lagoon Cigaru is quiet and sees few visitors.
Blue Lagoon Cigaru in Cisoka District, Tangerang Regency, which was once a favorite family tourist spot to enjoy holiday moments, now appears quiet and neglected.
Even so, this former mining pit lake still seems to be open, although only a handful of visitors come.
To enter the tourist attraction, visitors are charged a parking fee of 2,000 Rupiah for motorcycles and 10,000 Rupiah for cars.
When first entering the tourist area, visitors are presented with a view of lagoons on the left and right sides. The largest lagoon is located in the inner part of this area.
Several brown-colored gazebos appear lined up near the entrance; their condition looks unmaintained and covered in vandalism graffiti.
The three lagoons that were the main destinations at the Blue Lagoon Cigaru tourist site also look murky and a dense green color, unlike in the past.
Signboards and photo spots made of iron also look weathered and covered in rust caused by rain.
Meanwhile, the duck boats and rafts that visitors could previously rent to play on the lake area appear to be completely closed off.
A similar condition is experienced by the children’s swimming pool, which appears closed and abandoned.
In the past, this tourist spot was often visited to enjoy holidays with family; now it is mostly filled with people fishing by the lake shore.
A worker at Blue Lagoon Cigaru who did not want to be named said this tourist attraction was once a popular place for people from 2016 to 2017.
“Back then, it was definitely visited by hundreds of tourists every day for photos, relaxing, or having coffee,” they said.
However, after an incident where a tourist drowned in the lake, this tourist spot became quiet and seemingly uninhabited. “It started getting quiet from 2019 until now,” they said.
Meanwhile, one visitor, Nur, 29, said she came to this tourist spot out of curiosity about the fate of the lake, which was once beautiful and crowded with visitors but is now never heard of.
“It used to be very crowded here because the lake was nice. I was curious why this place is never talked about anymore, so I finally tried to come here,” she said.
Nur deeply regrets that the tourist spot, famous for its beautiful lake, has now become quiet and neglected. “When I arrived here, it turned out the condition was quiet, and the photo spots were already damaged,” she said.
