Evidence of sharp weapons used by a junior high school student to fatally assault an opponent during a brawl in Sindang Jaya, Tangerang Regency, is displayed.

The Criminal Investigation Unit of the Pasar Kemis Police Sector uncovered a case of a student brawl that resulted in one death on Jalan Lavon, Sindang Jaya Village, Sindang Jaya District, Tangerang Regency.

Two suspects, both students, were arrested within less than 24 hours.

The deadly clash occurred on Thursday, June 4, 2026, at around 7:00 PM local time. After intensive investigation, police officers quickly moved and arrested the two suspects on Friday, June 5, 2026, at around 10:00 AM local time.

“Within less than 24 hours after the incident, we secured two students suspected of being involved in the mob attack,” a police official said.

The official explained that this bloody incident involved two groups of students from two different schools: one junior high school in the Cikupa area and another junior high school in the Rajeg area.

As a result of the armed clash in the field, one victim from the Cikupa student group was reported dead.

Seized 6 Blades of Sharp Weapons

During the arrest operation, police also seized several pieces of evidence strongly suspected to have been used by the perpetrators to attack the victim during the brawl.

The evidence secured by officers included six blades of sharp weapons, such as sickles and machetes.

In addition to weapons, police confiscated three mobile phones, as well as clothes and bags worn by the suspects at the crime scene.

“Investigators are still conducting further investigations to uncover the role of each party involved in the brawl,” added the official.

Threatened with More Than 5 Years in Prison

The Pasar Kemis Police Sector Chief emphasized that law enforcement will be strictly applied. The suspects are now charged with multiple articles, including Article 80 in conjunction with Article 76C of the Child Protection Law, and/or Article 467 paragraph (2), and/or Article 307 paragraph (1) of the New Criminal Code.

“With a threat of imprisonment of more than five years,” explained the Chief.

In response to the rampant phenomenon of juvenile delinquency leading to criminal acts, a police spokesperson issued a stern warning to families.

Parents are urged to tighten supervision of their children’s activities outside the home.

“We urge parents to increase supervision of their children’s activities, especially at night and regarding social media use, which often serves as a means of communication or triggers for brawls. We expect the active role of all parties in supervising and guiding the younger generation,” concluded the spokesperson.
