To commemorate the 393rd anniversary of Tangerang Regency, the Tigaraksa Regional General Hospital held a social event in the form of a mass circumcision for 70 children on Thursday, October 9. In addition to free circumcision, participants also received grocery packages and pocket money after the procedure was completed.
The Regent of Tangerang stated that this mass circumcision event is open to all residents of Tangerang Regency without restrictions.
A total of 70 children have been officially registered by their parents to participate in this program.
“This free mass circumcision is open to the public; all residents of Tangerang Regency can register. However, so far, only 70 children have been officially registered by their parents,” said the Regent of Tangerang.
The Regent mentioned that participants not only received free circumcision services but also obtained follow-up treatment and care at no cost.
“Thankfully, everything went smoothly. The circumcisions started at 7:00 AM and are still ongoing as of 12:58 PM,” they said.
The Director of Tigaraksa Hospital added that this activity is part of the series of celebrations for the 393rd anniversary of Tangerang Regency.
They stated that this event also serves as tangible proof of the local government’s presence in providing healthcare services to the community.
“This is one of the series of events for the 393rd anniversary of Tangerang Regency and a real form of the Tangerang Regency Government’s presence among the people,” they said.
The Director further mentioned that since its operation, Tigaraksa Hospital has served approximately 5,000 patients every month, most of whom are participants of the BPJS UHC program.
“Thankfully, the presence of Tigaraksa Hospital has made significant contributions to the community, especially in the field of healthcare,” they said.
Meanwhile, a resident of Pinang Village, Tigaraksa Subdistrict, whose child participated in the program, expressed gratitude for the free mass circumcision initiative.
They noted that this activity greatly helps families who struggle to afford modern circumcision methods, which can be quite expensive.
“Without this program, the cost of laser circumcision is quite high, around IDR 1.7 to 2 million. But with this program, it’s free, and we also received gift packages and cash,” they said.
The resident also highlighted that the presence of Tigaraksa Hospital brings many benefits to the local community, as it facilitates access to healthcare services without the need for long-distance travel.
“It is very helpful. Besides being able to use BPJS, it also saves on transportation costs. If we had to go to other hospitals, such as Balaraja or Tangerang Regency, the travel costs would be quite high due to the long distance,” they said.
