TANGERANG – Tangerang City Government continues to enhance the flood control system by completing several infrastructure projects. One of these includes building four reservoirs in various areas.

The Head of Public Works and Spatial Planning Department stated that they have successfully completed the construction of four reservoirs according to the predetermined targets.

The construction of four reservoirs was implemented at several locations including Bugel Karawaci Reservoir, Duta Bintaro Pinang Reservoir, Villa Japos Ciledug Reservoir, and Paninggilan Ciledug Reservoir.

“This year we have built and rehabilitated four reservoirs to strengthen mitigation in flood-prone areas. The progress has reached 100 percent completion, so they can be optimized to reduce flood-prone spots in Tangerang City,” the official stated.

Not only that, Tangerang City Government has also successfully rehabilitated 27 retaining walls and built 18 new retaining walls spread across various flood-prone areas such as in Periuk, Cibodas and Jatiuwung Districts. Tangerang City Government ensured all retaining wall construction targets were completed so they can be utilized to significantly improve flood mitigation.

“Not just reservoirs, 55 permanent retaining wall points have been successfully built throughout this year. The construction focus included heightening existing walls, rehabilitation, and building new retaining walls, most of which have been successfully completed,” the official added.

Additionally, Tangerang City Government is conducting an in-depth assessment regarding plans to build other flood control system infrastructure, particularly in several border areas that will be implemented in the near future.
