The South Tangerang City Government has responded to a viral video on social media showing waste collection vehicle activity in the Bogor area, West Java.

The city government confirmed that the trucks in question are not part of its official fleet or that of any contracted partner.

Based on internal verification, the fleet captured in the documentation has no operational connection whatsoever to the South Tangerang City Government.

“We confirm that the trucks seen in the circulating video and photos are not part of the South Tangerang City Government’s fleet, nor are they vehicles belonging to any third-party partner with an official waste management contract with us,” the statement clarified.

It was also explained that the city government maintains strict protocols for waste distribution and transportation.

All official vehicles have specific physical identifiers, license plates registered in the system, and predetermined routes to legal final disposal sites.

Furthermore, official partners working with the city government are bound by strict integrity pacts and work contracts.

“There is a routine monitoring and evaluation mechanism that closes any gaps for illegal dumping outside official sites. If any vehicle violates procedures, our system will immediately detect it,” the statement emphasized.

As a form of responsibility for environmental sustainability, the South Tangerang City Government expressed full support for the firm action taken by the Bogor Regency Government.

This is part of a shared commitment to maintaining environmental cleanliness across regions.

“Any individuals behind such illegal actions must be dealt with according to the prevailing regulations. We are also ready to coordinate openly to clarify data to prevent the spread of misinformation that could harm institutional reputations,” the statement added.

This clarification is expected to provide a complete understanding that the South Tangerang City Government consistently upholds regulations in all aspects of public service.

“We urge all parties to rely on facts and accurate verification before drawing conclusions. Our commitment remains consistent: to carry out responsible and transparent environmental management for the benefit of the wider community,” the statement concluded.

Bogor area

The Bogor area in West Java, Indonesia, is historically significant as the site of the Bogor Palace, a former colonial-era summer residence for Dutch governors-general. It is most famous for the expansive Bogor Botanical Gardens (Kebun Raya Bogor), established in 1817, which is one of the oldest and largest botanical gardens in the world. The region’s cool, rainy climate and rich volcanic soil have long supported agriculture and made it a popular retreat from the heat of Jakarta.

West Java

West Java is an Indonesian province on the island of Java, historically home to the Sundanese people and several influential kingdoms like Tarumanagara and the Sunda Kingdom. It is renowned for its diverse cultural attractions, including the traditional *angklung* bamboo music, and its striking natural landscapes, from the volcanic peaks of Mount Tangkuban Perahu to the tea plantations of the Bandung highlands.
