TANGERANGNEWS.com- The South Tangerang Civil Service Police Unit (Satpol PP) has denied allegations of negligence regarding the ongoing construction of the Shekinah Glory Foundation’s Multipurpose Building (GSG) in the BSD Sector 12-1 area, which continues to operate despite being sealed on August 1, 2025.

The Head of Law Enforcement and Legislation at Satpol PP South Tangerang stated that monitoring of the Shekinah Glory Foundation building has continued after the sealing.

According to him, the ongoing activities are outside the building, specifically drainage repairs requested by residents to prevent flooding.

Meanwhile, inside the building, he confirmed there is no activity as the construction lacks a Building Construction Permit (PBG).

“Residents complained about flooding, so we allowed them to fix the drainage. But that’s outside the building to prevent flooding in the area,” he said on Thursday, July 31, 2025.

He further explained that as long as there is no PBG, the Shekinah Glory Foundation is strictly prohibited from continuing construction, which is why Satpol PP sealed the building.

This is in accordance with Regional Regulation No. 3/2023 on Building Construction, which authorizes Satpol PP to impose administrative sanctions, such as sealing buildings that are near completion without official permits.

“Previously, under the old building permit regulation, criminal sanctions could be imposed, and violators could be taken to court, resulting in stricter consequences. Now, Satpol PP’s authority is limited to sealing and halting activities, with further actions handled by relevant agencies,” he explained.

Although the project activities were carried out discreetly, he admitted that no police report could be filed since the seals remained intact.

However, monitoring of the controversial building, which has sparked disputes with Kencana Loka residents, will continue until the Shekinah Glory Foundation obtains the necessary permits.

“Currently, the building remains sealed, and the ongoing activities are only for drainage repairs to address flooding, which we have permitted,” he emphasized.

Previously, residents of Kencana Loka Block AB in Bumi Serpong Damai (BSD) Sector 12-1, South Tangerang, raised concerns about the construction of the Multipurpose Building (GSG) by the well-known Shekinah Glory Foundation, managed by the Beth Shalom community.

They argued that the building, located near residential areas, caused flooding by obstructing waterways and water absorption zones.

Residents reported that the construction led to flooding in the complex, with water levels reaching nearly one meter. Protests were lodged with the foundation, but no action was taken.
