The Criminal Investigation Unit (Satreskrim) of Metro Tangerang City Police has uncovered a case of alleged sexual abuse and/or lewd acts involving minors.
The suspect, identified as S, was arrested along with evidence after allegedly committing the crimes against several children in the Teluknaga area, Tangerang Regency.
The Head of Criminal Investigation at Metro Tangerang City Police explained that the case came to light after a victim’s mother reported receiving information from her family regarding the alleged abuse.
“The complainant learned from her sibling that the suspect had engaged in lewd acts with several children. Upon confirmation with the victims, it was revealed that the suspect lured them with money and food to carry out his actions,” the official stated.
The incident occurred on July 25, 2025, in the Perimeter Utara Street area, Bojong Renged Village, Teluknaga District.
The suspect’s method involved persuading the victims to come to a location, then performing lewd acts while promising them 50,000 IDR and buying them meatballs—promises that were never fulfilled.
Investigations revealed that several victims were still minors. To protect their identities, the police have not disclosed their full names.
After being detained by locals, the suspect was initially taken to the Teluknaga Police Station before being handed over to the Criminal Investigation Unit of Metro Tangerang City Police.
Evidence seized included several pieces of the victims’ clothing, such as T-shirts, shorts, and pants of various colors.
“The suspect has been detained along with the evidence. He is currently held for further legal proceedings,” the official added.
The suspect faces charges under Article 81 in conjunction with Article 76D and/or Article 82 in conjunction with Article 76E of Law No. 17/2016 on Child Protection, carrying a maximum penalty of 15 years in prison.
Police are currently coordinating with the Public Prosecutor’s Office to finalize the case documents.
