Metro Tangerang City Police conducted a large-scale patrol in the early hours of Sunday.

The Metro Tangerang City Police, under the Metro Jaya Regional Police, conducted a large-scale patrol in the early hours of Sunday as a preventive and preemptive measure to anticipate potential public security disturbances within their jurisdiction.

A total of 228 joint personnel were deployed in this operation, consisting of members from the National Police (Polri), the Indonesian Military (TNI), Public Order Agency (Satpol PP), Community Security Communication Forum (Senkom), and Public Security Coordination Team (Pokdarkamtibmas).

The patrol covered several crime-prone areas in Tangerang City, including the Government Center Electric Park, Ahmad Yani Square, and other locations frequently used as gathering spots that are vulnerable to criminal activities.

The Metro Tangerang City Police Chief, who had only been in office for a week, directly led the operation.

“Tonight’s patrol aims to anticipate public activities on Sunday evenings. Preventive measures are taken from preemptive to proactive steps against potential crimes,” said the Police Chief.

He added that Sunday night patrols would continue regularly, as it is considered a high-risk time for security disturbances, such as brawls, illegal street racing, thuggery, and motorcycle gang activities.

“We engage in dialogue with a humanistic approach. These appeals will directly reach the community,” he stated.

Furthermore, the Police Chief emphasized a firm stance against criminals, especially those involved in violence or threatening lives.

“For criminals, we will not hesitate to take strict action against perpetrators of crimes, whether violent offenses or those endangering human lives. We must act decisively,” he asserted.

While prioritizing a humanistic approach during patrols, the police remain on standby 24/7.

He encouraged the public to actively participate in maintaining security by reporting suspicious incidents or being victims of crimes through the call center at 110.

“We (the National Police) are ready 24 hours to serve the public. Report to 110 if you have information or become a victim of violent crimes or other offenses,” he urged.

The Metro Tangerang City Police will also conduct weekly evaluations of the patrols, including assessing the effectiveness of high-risk areas, patrol methods, and community interactions.

Preemptive activities such as campus outreach, community security discussions, and door-to-door patrols are also part of the ongoing prevention strategy.

“Let us work together to maintain public security in the Metro Tangerang City Police jurisdiction through good cooperation, which we hope to achieve,” concluded the Police Chief.

Government Center Electric Park

Government Center Electric Park, located in Boston, Massachusetts, was a bustling public space and transportation hub in the mid-20th century, known for its modernist design and proximity to government buildings. Originally developed as part of the city’s urban renewal efforts in the 1960s, it featured a large plaza, a prominent subway station, and Brutalist architecture. Over time, the area faced criticism for its unwelcoming design, leading to redevelopment plans aimed at making it more vibrant and pedestrian-friendly.

Ahmad Yani Square

Ahmad Yani Square, located in Semarang, Central Java, Indonesia, is a prominent public space named after General Ahmad Yani, a national hero who played a key role in Indonesia’s military history. The square serves as a recreational area and often hosts cultural and community events. It reflects the city’s urban development and commemorates Indonesia’s struggle for independence, particularly through its association with General Yani, who was a leader during the Indonesian National Revolution.
