KEDIRI – A tragic incident occurred at an entertainment venue in Banyakan District, Kediri Regency, involving illegal alcohol consumption. Three women were hospitalized due to suspected poisoning, and one of them died.

The deceased victim was identified as IB (32), a resident of Bujel Village, Mojoroto District, Kediri City. The other two women, Gi (39) from Sambirejo Village, Gampengrejo District, and Hi (34) from KH. A Dahlan Street, Mojoroto, are currently undergoing intensive treatment in the ICU of Muhammadiyah Hospital in Kediri City.

According to gathered information, the incident occurred on Friday night, August 1, 2025, around 8:00 PM local time. The three victims arrived with a group consisting of four women and three men to enjoy karaoke entertainment. At the venue, they consumed a large amount of alcohol over several hours.

Shortly after the gathering, their conditions deteriorated rapidly. They were rushed to the hospital the following morning. Unfortunately, IB was pronounced dead on Sunday morning, while the other two victims remain under medical care.

In response to the incident, the police immediately secured the scene and collected evidence, including CCTV footage and remnants of the alcoholic beverages allegedly consumed by the victims.

“Initial suspicions indicate that the three suffered poisoning from alcohol consumption. Medical diagnosis supports this indication,” explained an officer on Monday (August 4, 2025).

Authorities are awaiting laboratory results from the seized alcohol samples. The investigation continues to determine whether the drinks contained harmful substances.

This case adds to the growing list of victims harmed by potentially unsafe alcohol. The public is advised to avoid consuming alcoholic beverages from unverified or illegal sources.
