Efforts to supply fuel to the Jember region continue following disruptions in distribution. To ensure smooth operations, the Director of Engineering and Land Infrastructure (RID) of Pertamina Patra Niaga directly inspected fuel loading at the Surabaya Group Installation on Tuesday, July 30, 2025.
An additional 96 tank trucks were deployed to speed up fuel distribution to gas stations in Jember and nearby areas. This measure was taken due to the significant impact of the closure of the Gumitir Route—the main connecting road between Banyuwangi Regency and Jember, which was completely paralyzed.
“We are implementing three recovery steps: increasing the tanker fleet, activating fuel terminals in several areas of East Java, and applying the Regular, Alternative, and Emergency (RAE) scheme,” said the director.
Through a relay-based distribution mechanism, the company hopes Surabaya can allocate more fuel to support stock normalization in Jember.
Beyond logistics, attention was also given to Tank Truck Crews (AMT) as the frontline of energy distribution. The director and Pertamina Patra Niaga management distributed extra food supplies to 50 AMT personnel involved in the supply redirection scheme to Jember.
Meanwhile, the Corporate Secretary of Pertamina Patra Niaga emphasized that fuel distribution remains secure, smooth, and under control.
“The health and fitness of AMT personnel are a priority. We hope the extra food support will help maintain their morale and physical condition in the field,” the secretary stated.
The situation at several gas stations in Jember has gradually returned to normal. The public is urged to remain calm and avoid excessive purchasing.
The swift actions taken by the national energy company are expected to stabilize fuel distribution in affected areas, demonstrating Pertamina’s strong commitment to maintaining national energy resilience.
