A 72-year-old woman was found dead, covered in blood, after being brutally murdered during a robbery on Saturday night.

The victim was discovered in her home on Jalan Balai Desa, Medan Helvetia District, Medan.

Several valuable items belonging to the victim, including a mobile phone, cash, and jewelry, were reported missing from the house.

Personnel from the Medan Helvetia Police Station and the Medan Police Criminal Investigation Unit arrived at the crime scene to evacuate the victim’s body to Bhayangkara Hospital for an autopsy.

Investigators are currently conducting an inquiry into the suspected robbery and murder case.

“Initial examination suggests signs of violence on the victim’s body. The case is still under investigation,” said an officer.

It was revealed that, according to the victim’s child, several valuable items were missing from the house. The victim’s body has been taken to Bhayangkara Hospital for autopsy.

“Officers are still in the field investigating the case. We hope for a swift resolution,” the statement concluded.
