Medan –
The Narcotics Investigation Directorate of the North Sumatra Police raided a drug storage house belonging to an international network in Medan City. Four suspects were arrested during the raid.
The operation was conducted on Jalan Sekolah Gang Padang, Martubung Village, Medan Labuhan District, on Tuesday (29/7/2025). The three main suspects arrested were RR (32), FM (42), and IS (45), while another suspect, FA, was also detained at the scene after testing positive for drug use.
“This investigation began with public information about a house suspected of being a frequent location for drug transactions,” said a police representative.
The Special Team of the Narcotics Investigation Directorate immediately moved to the location to verify the information. Officers then searched the house and seized a large quantity of drugs, including 26 kg of methamphetamine, 2,400 grams of ketamine, 39,650 ecstasy pills of various brands, 150 liquid vape cartridges containing narcotics, and 34 packages of Happy Water laced with dipentylone and heroin.
“During interrogation, the main suspect admitted to receiving the drugs from someone acting on the orders of HS, an Aceh resident currently living in Thailand. The identities and connections of the network are still under further investigation,” the representative explained.
The suspects had different roles: RR was the owner of the house and the illegal substances, IS acted as the distributor, and FM served as both courier and house guard.
Police are currently investigating other individuals involved in the case.
“This operation demonstrates the North Sumatra Police’s firm commitment to cracking down on cross-provincial and international drug networks. We will not tolerate such criminal activities,” the representative concluded.
