The 7th President of Indonesia, Joko Widodo (Jokowi), departed for Jakarta and Medan this morning. Jokowi plans to watch the AFF U-19 Cup in Deli Serdang, North Sumatra.

Jokowi left his residence around 10:00 AM local time. He traveled alone to Adi Soemarmo Airport in Boyolali.

“Going to Jakarta, then to Medan,” Jokowi said when asked about his agenda.

Jokowi stated his plan to go to Medan to watch the AFF U-19 Cup match on Sunday (7/6). On that day, the Garuda Muda will face the Vietnam National Team.

“Watch the AFF,” he said cheerfully.

When asked if there were any plans to tour Indonesia as well, Jokowi denied it. According to him, the plan to tour Indonesia will be done later.

“No (touring Indonesia), still later, later, later,” he explained.

Jokowi plans to go to Medan with his wife, Iriana Joko Widodo.

“Yes, with my wife,” he said briefly and entered the car.

As information, the 2026 AFF U-19 Cup or ASEAN U-19 Boys Championship 2026 is scheduled to take place from June 1-14, 2026, featuring 11 participating countries, including Australia. Indonesia, acting as the host, is placed in Group A alongside Vietnam, Timor Leste, and Myanmar.

For the first time, North Sumatra (Sumut) has been appointed as the host for this prestigious 2026 AFF U-19 Cup event.
