The series of events over the past two days made Dadan Hindayana one of the most searched names among the Indonesian public on Wednesday (3/6/2026). Not only because of his removal from the position of Head of BGN, but also due to the swift action of the Attorney General’s Office, which subsequently named him a suspect and detained him.

Still Accompanying Government Agenda

Until early this week, Dadan Hindayana was still carrying out his duties as Head of BGN.

He was known as a figure trusted to lead the agency that spearheads the implementation of the Free Nutritious Meal Program (MBG), one of the priority programs of President Prabowo Subianto’s administration. Dadan himself was the first Head of BGN since the agency was established in August 2024.

However, the situation changed rapidly when an internal evaluation of BGN became a government concern.

Evening: Removed from Position

On Tuesday evening, June 2, 2026, President Prabowo Subianto made a leadership change at the National Nutrition Agency.

Dadan Hindayana was removed from his position as Head of BGN along with two deputies after the government evaluated the agency’s performance and management. The leadership change was announced as part of organizational restructuring steps.

At that time, the public did not yet know that a bigger change would occur a few hours later.

Early Morning: Investigators Move

Just a few hours after the removal, investigators from the Attorney General’s Office moved.

Early Wednesday morning, the investigation team conducted a search at the National Nutrition Agency office in the Kebon Sirih area, Central Jakarta. Office activities were even reported to have been paralyzed due to the search process that lasted from early morning.

At almost the same time, Dadan Hindayana along with two other former BGN officials were picked up by investigators for further examination.

Status as Suspect and Detained

The biggest development occurred on Wednesday (3/6/2026).

The Attorney General’s Office named Dadan Hindayana a suspect in the case under investigation. After undergoing examination, he was officially detained along with other parties involved in the case.

This detention marked a turning point that completely changed Dadan Hindayana’s position in a very short time.

From a state official leading a strategic national agency, he now must undergo legal proceedings as a suspect.

From Academic to Head of BGN

Before entering government, Dadan was known as an academic and researcher from the Bogor Agricultural Institute (IPB).

His career in education and research led him to be trusted as Head of the National Nutrition Agency when the agency was established by the government in 2024.
