A shocking incident shook the Indonesian entertainment and political world on Saturday night (30/8/25), when the residence of former Member of the People’s Representative Council (DPR) and artist Surya Utama, better known as Uya Kuya, in the Jakarta area became the target of a mob’s rampage.
The ransacking and vandalism left total destruction, turning the residence into rubble with no valuable items left inside.
Facing this unexpected devastation, Uya Kuya expressed his acceptance.
He even prayed that the taken items would be beneficial to the looters.
“May what you have taken be useful for you,” wrote Uya Kuya in the caption of his video on Monday (1/9/25).

Previously, with resignation he had also stated, “Yes, the point is I accept it, it’s okay, I accept,” he wrote.
Nevertheless, there was a deep sadness that Uya could not hide, especially concerning his pet.
“It’s just sad – the cat, a living creature was taken, that’s all,” said Uya.
A sorrowful confession highlighting the emotional impact behind the material loss.
A video reposted by an Instagram account shows the condition of Uya Kuya’s house after the incident: messy and completely destroyed.
The first and second floors were filled with debris, important documents were scattered, and white walls were covered with rough graffiti from the demonstrators.
The house, which was previously neatly arranged, was now “destroyed both inside and out” due to the brutal and anarchic attack.
Looters jumped the fence and broke glass to enter, damaging “all facilities” from air conditioners, clothes, chairs, kitchen utensils, to “Uya’s beloved cat also became a target.”
Although some items were successfully saved thanks to the arrival of police and military members, unfortunately, those items were already in unusable condition.
Important documents belonging to Uya Kuya and his family, including passports, were also found scattered outside the house, along with severely damaged family photos.

This brutal action is alleged to have been triggered by a circulating video of Uya Kuya seen dancing at the Annual Session of the People’s Consultative Assembly (MPR), which was then misinterpreted and linked to the issue of DPR salary increases.
Uya Kuya immediately provided clarification, explaining that he danced because “listening to the choir music from Unhan.”
He strongly denied the narrative accusing him of celebrating the DPR salary increase or mocking netizens.
“If I danced, it’s true I danced because there was music playing, there was choir music from Unhan, but it was then edited to make it seem like I was dancing because of a salary increase when there wasn’t any,” he explained.
“I also didn’t say anything, an old video was made to look like I
