A thief with the initials MS (54) stole a laptop and cash from a house in Tapos. The suspect was arrested by the police.
The Cimanggis Police Chief, Comr. Jupriono, stated that the incident occurred on Sunday (8/3/2025) at 8:00 PM in Tapos, Depok. Upon returning home, the victim noticed their room was in disarray.
“After checking, the victim realized their laptop and a sum of cash were missing. The victim then inspected the entire house and found an open window on the upper floor with footprints nearby,” said Jupriono in a statement on Wednesday (8/6).
The victim reported the incident to the neighborhood head. According to a neighbor’s statement, they had caught someone falling from the roof of their house due to suspicion.
“The neighborhood head confronted the individual, but they denied any wrongdoing. Eventually, the suspect was handed over to the Cimanggis Police Station,” he explained.
Jupriono added that after investigation by the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Cimanggis Police, the suspect confessed to the crime. The perpetrator and evidence have been secured at the Cimanggis Police Station for further investigation.
“The public is urged to report any security disturbances to the nearest police station or contact the police call center at 110 (toll-free),” he concluded.
