A man with the initials JA became the victim of a kidnapping by three individuals with the initials AA, RM, and AZ, who claimed to be members of a police special unit. The perpetrators accused the victim of distributing Tramadol before abducting him.

“The perpetrators accused the victim (brother JA) of distributing illegal drugs (Tramadol type),” said the Head of Criminal Investigation at Depok Metro Police, in a statement.

He explained that one of the perpetrators, AA, immediately grabbed the victim’s neck and held his arm from the side. The victim was then taken to a car parked on the roadside.

“The victim was placed in the back seat and seated on the folded car bench. The perpetrators demanded a ransom of Rp 30 million,” he added.

Unable to pay the full amount, the victim agreed to pay Rp 10 million. However, shortly after, the Depok Metro Police Criminal Investigation Unit managed to arrest the perpetrators along with evidence for further investigation.

Earlier, it was explained that the kidnapping occurred on Tuesday. At the time of the incident, the victim was sitting in front of a shop on Kali Licin Street, Pancoran Mas, Depok.

“Initially, the victim was relaxing in front of the shop when several individuals claiming to be members of the police special unit approached him. The victim was then forced into a car with his hands and eyes bound with duct tape,” the statement said.
