PLDT secured its fourth consecutive victory in the 2025 Premier Volleyball League (PVL) ON Tour after a dominant performance against previously unbeaten Nxled, winning 25-11, 25-17, 25-17, on Saturday at the USJ-R Coliseum in Cebu City.
Kiesha Bedonia led the team with 15 points, including 10 attacks, three blocks, and two aces, along with five receptions. Majoy Baron contributed 13 points as the High Speed Hitters improved to 4-0 in Pool A.
With this win, PLDT also secured a direct spot in the quarterfinals, while the Chameleons suffered their first loss, dropping to 3-1.
“Facing Nxled was a challenge because they were undefeated. I told the team we’d face different opponents, so we’re happy everyone performed well and we were able to rotate players,” said the PLDT head coach. “Hopefully, the momentum continues.”
PLDT extended a narrow 9-8 lead to 14-9 thanks to back-to-back kills from Bedonia. Another powerful hit from her gave PLDT a 17-11 advantage before Mika Reyes executed a quick play, pushing the High Speed Hitters to a 23-16 lead.
The Chameleons, who had previously defeated Petro Gazz, Choco Mucho, and Galeries in a strong start to the offseason, fought back with a 3-0 run after two consecutive double contact violations were called on Kim Fajardo, narrowing the gap to 23-19.
However, Bedonia proved unstoppable, securing match point with a cross-court attack before sealing the victory with another powerful kill.
Birthday celebrant Kim Kianna Dy and Mika Reyes each added nine points, while Jovy Prado contributed seven points and five receptions.
“I’m super happy. Of course, one of my birthday wishes was to win today, and I’m also very happy to spend my birthday with the people I love—my teammates,” Dy said.
