Depok

The city will celebrate its 27th anniversary on April 27, 2026. The Depok City Government has urged all parties not to send floral arrangements, but trees instead.

This is stated in an official advisory letter regarding congratulations for Depok City’s 27th anniversary. Residents are advised to replace such congratulations with the gift of a tree.

“The three types of trees recommended in the advisory are tabebuya, mahogany, and frangipani,” it was stated.

This policy aims to support the greening program while also reducing waste. It was stated that other types of trees are also permissible as long as they can grow to a minimum height of 2 meters.

“The trees given are expected to have a minimum height of 2 meters or a trunk diameter of about 10 cm,” it was added.

It was stated that this advisory applies generally. The aim is for this year’s Depok anniversary celebration not to be merely ceremonial.

“This advisory applies to various groups, from government agencies, the Regional House of Representatives, district and village heads, community figures, to all residents of Depok City,” it was stated.
