The Chief of Depok Metro Police, Commissioner Abdul Waras, together with the Commander of the 0508/Depok Military District, Colonel Imam Widhiarto, held a joint prayer with the online motorcycle taxi (ojol) community in the Pancoran Mas area, Depok. This was to pray for an online motorcycle taxi driver who was killed after being run over by a tactical vehicle (Rantis) of the Mobile Brigade Corps.

“This activity was carried out as a form of condolence for the passing of Affan Kurniawan, the ojol driver who was a victim of an accident after being hit by a Mobile Brigade Corps tactical car,” said Commissioner Abdul Waras.

Abdul Waras also expressed his deep condolences for the incident that befell Affan. He asked the ojol drivers to trust the Indonesian National Police in the investigation of this case.

“May he be accepted by Allah SWT. And of course, we have conveyed to our ojol colleagues to fully entrust the legal process to the Indonesian National Police. In accordance with the emphasis from the National Police Chief, the member who committed the violation will be processed according to regulations,” he said.

Furthermore, Abdul emphasized that his party, together with the Military District Commander and the ojol community, are committed to maintaining the conduciveness of Depok City. “We urge everyone not to be easily provoked by any party that will take advantage of the situation,” he explained.

In the meeting, the representative of the Depok City ojol community, Firmansyah, expressed appreciation and commitment to keeping the situation conducive.

“Assalamualaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh, we from the representatives of the Depok City online motorcycle taxi community highly appreciate the appeal from the Police Chief and the Military District Commander for Depok to remain peaceful and Depok to remain conducive,” he said.

The event concluded with a joint prayer offered by the ranks of the Indonesian National Armed Forces, the Indonesian National Police, and the ojol community for the late Affan Kurniawan.
