BEKASI CITY – The condition of the New School Unit (USB) for SMPN 62 Bekasi City, which appears unfit for teaching and learning activities, has become a serious concern for the Bekasi City Legislative Council.

The junior high school owned by the Bekasi City Government looks like a school because it uses the former building of the Medan Satria Sub-district Office in Medan Satria District.

A member of Commission IV of the Bekasi City Legislative Council expressed concern about the condition of SMPN 62 Bekasi City’s USB. According to them, the Bekasi City Government must step in to address the issue of SMPN 62 students learning in an unsuitable place.

“I urge the Bekasi City Government to come here and immediately realize the construction of SMPN 62,” they stated during a visit to SMPN 62 Bekasi City.

They mentioned that every student in Bekasi City deserves a proper place to participate in teaching and learning activities facilitated by the Government.

“How can we create a good generation for the nation if the building itself is very unfit? Earlier we saw one classroom where students were studying cramped together; that is already unsuitable, the government must be present,” they said.

As known, the condition of the State Junior High School (SMPN) 62 building in Medan Satria District, Bekasi City, is concerning.

A number of classrooms were reported to be nearly collapsing, while basic facilities such as desks and chairs are still far from adequate.
