BEKASI CITY – Approximately 250 alumni of the Nusantara Student Executive Board from 140 campuses across Indonesia held a Grand Reunion and National Consolidation. The event, carrying the theme “Nurturing Brotherhood, Strengthening Solidarity,” aims to bridge past idealism with concrete action amid the new government.
Former 7th President of Indonesia was seen endorsing the Grand Reunion of Nusantara Student Executive Board Alumni Association, which is also planned to be attended by the Vice President of Indonesia.
This reunion also marks a transition moment for former campus activists who now work as public officials, academics, and business professionals. The main agenda is to compile strategic policy recommendations for the government.
The committee chairman emphasized that the fighting spirit of this student organization must not fade. He announced formal steps to consolidate the movement.
“We will register this institution with the Ministry of Law and Human Rights to become an official organization. We want the Student Executive Board’s struggle to not stop at campus, but to continue living in society,” he stated before participants.
According to him, the alumni’s role has now shifted from street demonstrations to policy tables. “We must fight with our brains, not just muscles,” he added.
At the same location, the Steering Committee Chairman highlighted the one-year mark of national leadership as the right time to contribute.
“We previously conveyed development ideas since the SBY era. Now, as the nation enters one year of the new government, it’s time for us to contribute again in the form of thoughts,” he explained.
He specifically mentioned the government’s Asta Cita concept as a work framework that needs to be guarded with critical reasoning. This forum, he continued, is a concrete form of public participation in guarding the development agenda.
The three-day meeting concluded with a commitment to compile a national plenary. The document will contain collective thought recommendations to be submitted to the government, continuing the intellectual tradition built during college years.
The presence of several officials such as representatives from the National Police Headquarters and Bekasi City Government in this event emphasized that the reunion is not merely nostalgia, but a consolidation of national ideas to welcome Golden Indonesia 2045.
