Bekasi –
Personnel from the Batalyon D Pelopor Satbrimob successfully dispersed an illegal street racing activity in Bekasi Regency. Two young men were arrested.
The case came to light when personnel conducted a zoning patrol at several vulnerable points in Bekasi Regency in the early hours of Sunday (June 7, 2026). The routine patrol is part of the efforts to maintain security and provide a sense of calm to the community.
“The presence of personnel in the field aims to prevent potential security disturbances early on while ensuring that the community can carry out their activities safely and comfortably,” said the Commander of Brimob Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Henik Maryanto, in his statement on Sunday (June 7).
During the patrol, officers found a group of teenagers gathering in the areas of Jalan Irian and MM2100 Cikarang Barat. The officers then conducted inspections and guidance measures to prevent illegal street racing, which could potentially endanger safety.
“Two young men along with one motorcycle were subsequently handed over to the local police for data collection and further guidance according to applicable procedures,” he explained.
Kombes Henik appealed to the public, especially parents, to continuously increase supervision of their children’s activities outside the home at night. Mutual concern is an important factor in preventing juvenile delinquency and keeping the environment safe and conducive.
“This activity is carried out as a preventive step to maintain regional security while anticipating illegal street racing, brawls, and other security disturbances that have the potential to disrupt public order,” he said.
The patrol targeted several roads that are often gathering spots for teenagers at night until early morning, ranging from the Kalimalang Jababeka area, Tambun Selatan, Tambun Utara to Cikarang Barat. During the patrol, Brimob personnel monitored the situation and conducted humanistic inspections.
“And provided appeals to young people not to engage in activities that could endanger themselves or other road users,” he said.
The police urge that if the public needs police assistance or finds potential security disturbances, they can contact the emergency service at 110, which is on standby 24 hours a day.
