Bandung –
The five daily prayers are obligatory acts of worship that Muslims must perform every day throughout their lives.
In Surah Al-Baqarah, verse 43, Allah calls upon His servants to perform prayer and give charity. He says:
Meaning: “And establish prayer, give zakah, and bow with those who bow [in worship and obedience].” (Quran, Al-Baqarah: 43)
Prayer can also bring many blessings to Muslims. Based on a hadith narrated by Ahmad, from ‘Abdullah bin ‘Umar, may Allah be pleased with them, the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) once spoke about prayer and said,
Meaning: “Whoever is diligent in performing it will have light, proof, and salvation on the Day of Judgment. But whoever is not diligent in performing it will have no light, no proof, and no salvation. And on the Day of Judgment, he will be gathered with Qarun, Pharaoh, Haman, and Ubay bin Khalaf.” (Narrated by Ahmad)
