The five daily prayers are an obligatory act of worship that every Muslim must perform every day throughout their life.

In Surah Al-Baqarah, verse 43, Allah SWT calls upon His servants to perform prayer and give alms. He says:

Meaning: “And establish prayer, give alms, and bow down with those who bow down.” (QS. Al-Baqarah: 43)

Prayer also brings many blessings to Muslims. Based on a hadith narrated by Ahmad, from ‘Abdullah bin ‘Umar radhiyallahu ‘anhuma, the Messenger of Allah SAW reminded about prayer one day, then said:

Meaning: “Whoever guards their prayers will receive light, guidance, and salvation on the Day of Judgment. As for whoever does not guard their prayers, they will have no light, guidance, or salvation. And on the Day of Judgment, they will be gathered together with Qarun, Pharaoh, Haman, and Ubayy bin Khalaf.” (HR Ahmad)
