Bandung

The promise of West Java Governor Dedi Mulyadi to Persib Bandung has finally been fulfilled. After becoming champions of the Super League 2025/2026, Persib received a reward of 1 billion Indonesian Rupiah, handed over directly by Dedi to the President Director of PT Persib Bandung Bermartabat (PBB), Glenn Sugita.

The handover took place at the West Java Regional House of Representatives building on Wednesday, June 3, 2026, in front of management and player representatives. The bonus serves as an appreciation for Persib’s historic achievement of winning the league title three times in a row.

Dedi stated that the bonus funds came from the sale of cattle, which he had previously promised to Persib during the championship celebration.

“Today I am presenting a bonus to the Persib team for winning three consecutive titles, worth 1 billion Rupiah, obtained from the sale of cattle,” said Dedi.

The bonus is a symbol of appreciation for Persib’s efforts in once again becoming the rulers of national football. Amid intense league competition, Persib maintained consistency and returned to the top podium.

President Director of PT PBB, Glenn Sugita, expressed gratitude for the attention and support given by the West Java Provincial Government to Persib.

“Thank you, Governor. This is a great honor for us. We are also grateful for the full support from the government, which helped us win three titles,” said Glenn.

Glenn revealed that Persib’s journey to the championship this season was not easy. Towards the end of the competition, he even had doubts due to the difficulty of the matches the team had to face.

“This season was very tough. I once complained to the Governor that the last five matches would be very difficult, and I was also not very confident,” he said.

According to Glenn, the bonus will be given to the players as a reward for their hard work throughout the season.

“So, thank you for the support. I am passing this on to the players so they can achieve more and give their maximum effort next year,” he said.

Deputy CEO of PT PBB, Adhitia Putra Herawan, mentioned that the bonus received by Persib is a significant morale boost after what he described as one of the toughest seasons in recent years.

“On behalf of the management of PT Persib Bandung Bermartabat, as well as all the players, we thank the Governor for the reward, as he promised during the parade, saying the proceeds from the cattle sale would be given,” said Adhitia.

“And thankfully, today it has been realized and directly received by Mr. Glenn and several board members,” he continued.

Adhitia acknowledged that Persib’s efforts this season drained the energy of all team members. Therefore, the bonus serves as additional motivation to face greater challenges next season.

“Hopefully, this will also boost our spirits because, honestly, this season was quite tough. This season might have been the hardest,” he said.

“It was also mentioned by Kang Jupe that this bonus is like a thirst quencher because of how difficult this season was, and it truly adds to our spirit to compete next season and in Asia,” added Adhitia.

Senior Persib defender, Achmad Jufrianto, echoed similar sentiments. The player, commonly known as Jupe, reminded that the defending champion status will make Persib the main target for all opponents next season.

“Clearly, the challenges will be bigger for us, tougher for us next year. We have already achieved back-to-back titles, as we experienced last year, and everyone is trying to beat us,” said Jupe.

According to him, the bonus received by Persib should be a trigger for all players to work even harder in maintaining their dominance in domestic and Asian competitions.

“So, with this additional bonus, and with our hat-trick this year, the future will definitely be more challenging for us, and players must work even harder,” he said.
