The coaching era has officially ended. The Croatian coach chose to step down from the head coach position after successfully leading the team to the championship.
His departure leaves a significant legacy. Since joining in July 2023, he transformed Persib Bandung into one of the most dominant teams in Indonesian football. Three consecutive titles proved his success in building the Maung Bandung squad.
Beyond achievements, Bojan Hodak also set several records that made him deeply loved by the fans. Although he is no longer on the sidelines, Bojan Hodak will remain part of Persib Bandung in a new role as a team expert advisor.
The head coach position of Persib Bandung is now entrusted to another figure. The person who has been Bojan Hodak’s right-hand man will lead Persib Bandung into the 2026/2027 season.
The Commissioner of PT Persib Bandung Bermartabat emphasized that Persib Bandung’s targets remain unchanged despite the coaching change. He hopes that the new coach can continue the winning tradition established by Bojan Hodak.
“Our hope remains that, whatever happens, hopefully we can become champions again. It is not impossible, because Bojan will still monitor, supervise, and always stay in touch,” said Umuh Muchtar.
According to Umuh Muchtar, Bojan Hodak will still help Persib Bandung even from off the field. In fact, Bojan Hodak is said to still watch Persib Bandung matches via live broadcast to provide evaluations to the team.
Additionally, Umuh Muchtar is optimistic that Persib Bandung players will not have difficulty adapting to Igor Tolic. Igor Tolic’s closeness with the Persib Bandung squad is the main reason management appointed him as Bojan Hodak’s replacement.
“I think, I am confident that the players like Igor Tolic. Because I have heard and seen it myself. God willing, there will be no obstacles. They will remain united as usual,” said Umuh Muchtar.
Now, the new era of Persib Bandung with Igor Tolic has officially begun. Big challenges await, but the target for Maung Bandung remains the same: to retain the championship title and continue their dominance in Indonesian football.
