Bandung –
The five daily prayers are an obligatory act of worship that Muslims must perform every day throughout their lives.
In Surah Al-Baqarah, verse 43, Allah SWT calls upon His servants to establish prayer and give zakat. He says:
Meaning: “And establish prayer, give zakat, and bow with those who bow.” (QS. Al-Baqarah: 43)
Prayer also brings many blessings to Muslims. Based on a hadith narrated by Ahmad, from ‘Abdullah bin ‘Umar radhiyallahu ‘anhuma, the Messenger of Allah SAW reminded about prayer one day, then said,
Meaning: “Whoever preserves his prayer will have light, proof, and salvation on the Day of Resurrection. Whoever does not preserve his prayer will have no light, no proof, and no salvation. On the Day of Resurrection, he will be gathered with Qarun, Pharaoh, Haman, and Ubayy bin Khalaf.” (HR Ahmad)
