JAKARTA – The International Animal Photo & Video Competition (IAPVC) 2026 officially launched on May 23, 2026, at Taman Safari Indonesia. This launch marks 35 years of Indonesia’s most prestigious wildlife visual competition. IAPVC continues to develop into an international platform that serves as a medium for wildlife storytelling through photography and videography. Entering its 35th year, the competition carries the theme “From Lens to Legacy.”
The theme illustrates how photographic and videographic works can become more than just visual documentation, but also carry meaningful messages. Every image has the power to inspire and create a legacy of awareness that can impact future generations. “IAPVC itself is a legacy worth celebrating every year, a long journey that continues to connect creativity, education, and the spirit of nature conservation through visual works,” said Agus Santoso, Board Advisory Group. This year, IAPVC expands its reach not only in Indonesia but also to include Southeast Asia and Australia.
This expansion strengthens IAPVC’s position as one of the leading global wildlife visual competitions. IAPVC 2029 presents nine categories in the Wildlife Photo Competition, providing space for photographers and filmmakers to showcase their creativity, technical quality, and storytelling perspectives in capturing the beauty and diversity of wildlife.
“At this launch, we also inaugurated the IAPVC Community as part of IAPVC’s long journey that has grown and progressed together over the years. The presence of this community serves as a platform for wildlife and nature photography enthusiasts to continue creating, sharing inspiration, and strengthening conservation messages through visuals,” said Agus Santoso, Board Advisory Group. IAPVC 2026 will feature a variety of exciting program series, ranging from photography workshops in schools and universities to international wildlife competitions.
All works will be judged by a panel of professional jurors in wildlife photography, filmmaking, and conservation, before concluding with an Awarding Night as appreciation for the winners.
For over 35 years, IAPVC has continued to be a platform for visual storytelling that connects art, education, tourism, and conservation, while building a legacy that is celebrated every year for future generations.
